In today's fast-paced business world, co-working spaces have become increasingly popular. However, the Fancy co-working office space takes this concept to a whole new level. Designed by Ya-Ping Fan and Chi-Fen Yang, Fancy offers a unique blend of work and hospitality, creating an environment that feels more like checking into a luxurious hotel than a typical office.
The entrance to Fancy sets the tone for the entire space. Impressive entrance signals guide visitors to a beautiful reception area that evokes the feeling of an exclusive hotel lobby, complete with a chic bar. Soft colors and materials are used throughout the space to create an atmosphere of exquisite comfort.
While the design of Fancy prioritizes the hotel-like experience, the functionality of an office workspace remains the core focus. The layout and design of the office space are carefully planned to meet the needs of individual users while also providing a flexible environment for corporate activities.
One of the challenges faced by the designers was the fact that the building was originally designed for residential use, not as an office space. To overcome this limitation, the site plan was carefully considered, with each room's size and layout being a key consideration. The use of light grey colors and area lighting helps to create a cohesive and stylish aesthetic.
Furthermore, shutters and blinds were strategically incorporated to eliminate the original window frames of the building, further enhancing the office-like atmosphere. The result is a space that seamlessly blends the comforts of a hotel with the functionality of a modern office.
With its unique approach to co-working office design, Fancy offers a glimpse into the future of workspaces. As the nature of work continues to evolve, the need for flexible and adaptable office spaces becomes increasingly important. Fancy is a prime example of how office design can cater to the changing needs of individuals and businesses alike.
The Fancy co-working office space was completed in July 2019 in Taipei City, Taiwan. It covers an area of 109 square meters and was designed by Ya-Ping Fan and Chi-Fen Yang. The project was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020, recognizing its outstanding creativity and contribution to quality of life improvements.
